“Play is the work of the child” Maria Montessori

We know children learn best through their play, which is why we ensure children are provided with activities that engage and excite them. Staff skillfully interweave learning outcomes into activities using actions, experiences, words and open-ended questions to stretch and challenge children.  Natural interest and curiosity is used as a springboard to their development in all areas such as problem solving, memory and the processing of information.

We recognise each child’s emerging needs and interests, guiding their development through warm, positive interactions. As children grow older, and as their development allows, there will be more activities led by adults, to help children prepare for learning that is more formal and their transition to school.

BABIES

ages 0-24 months

Development of babies starts with a loving, nurturing relationship between the adult and child. At Bright Bees we ensure a robust key person system is in place for your child to see the same key person for every session.

We pride ourselves on having an experienced, consistent team of highly qualified individuals ready to help your child learn and explore. Each key worker is available for a chat with parents at the beginning and end of the day as we believe the relationship between staff and parents is paramount in the babies development.

TODDLERS

ages 2-3 years

Our Toddler room allows children to learn through play whilst ensuring their safety is not compromised. The resources and activities are carefully planned enabling children to follow their own schemes and ideas. At this age children are learning about making their own choices and the environment reflects this by having all resources accessible at all times.

The room is laid out to provide provocations to intrigue and challenge toddlers further. Our toddlers also benefit from an outdoor classroom which is accessible throughout their session.

PRESCHOOL

ages 3-5 years

As children move into the independence of the preschool years the programme for learning develops into a more structured pace of meaningful and purposeful learning, where children are encouraged to approach the world with curiosity and with a positive disposition to learn.

At this stage children need confidence and the skills and desire to think for themselves, to solve problems, to work with others, to communicate, and to gain an increasing understanding of the world and how it works.
